It’s no lie that your wedding day is the biggest of your life which is why it is so important that you have your dream wedding. So, whether you want to marry on the Mediterranean or organise a tropical celebration on the pure white sands of the Caribbean, there are so many beautiful locations that you will be spoilt for choice!
With one third of all engagements happening over the festive period, we thought we would take you on a tour of a selection of the world’s most beautiful wedding destinations.
A wedding on this breath-taking Caribbean island is guaranteed to be a fun, vibrant and memorable celebration. When it comes to a wedding in Cuba, there are two clear choices – the city or the beach. The city of Havana is a vibrant and romantic setting with it’s stunning, colonial architecture and beautiful stone churches. If you want to escape the city, and celebrate with a beach wedding, you will be spoilt for choice – whichever you choose, you’re likely to experience white sands, blazing sun and tropical weather.
The best time to book your Cuban wedding is March or April when the weather is warm, but there are fewer tourists to spoil your photographs!
Famous for its cultural attractions, rich history and amazing beaches, Mexico offers the perfect combination of relaxation, romance, culture and adventure – what’s more there is plenty to keep your guests entertained while you spend quality time together. Mexico is becoming more and more popular with American and Canadian couples looking for the perfect destination.
The ideal time for your Mexican wedding is between November and April when there is less rainfall. Resorts tend to be a lot busier in spring (mid-February-mid April) and in summer (mid May- mid July).
Each year, more than 100,000 couples get married in Las Vegas. Often, people travel to Las Vegas for a quick, convenient wedding ceremony, for a unique experience (where else could you be serenaded by Elvis as you say “I Do” or enjoy a Drive Thru ceremony?) A wedding in Las Vegas is sure to leave you with many happy, lasting memories!
Las Vegas is a common weekend getaway destination and is especially busy between December and February. If you’re not a fan of intense heat, avoid booking your wedding between June and August – you’ll never truly appreciate air conditioning until you visit Vegas in the summer months!
If you’re looking for an easily accessible and English-speaking destination for your guests, the Bahamas is the ideal wedding destination for you. The archipelago of around 2000 islands is located close to the tip of Southern Florida in the Atlantic Ocean. There is a whole range of activities to experience from dolphin watching to shark encounters and kiteboarding to keep you and your guests entertained during your stay.
What’s more, the weather in the Bahamas tends to be great all year round with temperatures rarely dipping below 60 degrees – even in winter! The rainy season occurs between May and November with the hurricane season started in June. Despite these rain predictions, the Bahamas enjoy more than 300 days of sunshine every year.
Also known as The Garden Island, Kauai is an island in the mid-Pacific. If you’re looking for a wedding spot in one of the world’s most exotic tropical islands, then look no further. With its lush green trees, brooding mountains, long sandy beaches and coral reefs Kauai is an idyllic location to tie the knot.
Kauai is beautiful in every season but, if you’re dreaming of a beach wedding, you should plan your big day between June and October. The rainy season lasts from November to February with the north and east areas receiving the most rain.
Just saying the word Italy conjures up romantic images and this European country will not fail to disappoint. There are thousands of breath-taking, unique locations across the country to hold a destination wedding. While Rome impresses with ancient ruins, Lake Como has a stunning vista, while Florence is home to galleries containing works by the world’s greatest artists, Venice has a charming web of narrow canals. For the best weather, travel between May and September.
Also known as the Venice of the North, Amsterdam is a popular wedding destination for couples wanting something a little different for their big day. Couples can get married in the town hall, a church, a hotel, a boat, a country estate or even a former coastal battery!
